Jiho Yang is on the cusp of registering the biggest upset victory in the 68-year history of the KOLON Korea Open after opening up a huge seven-shot third-round lead today.
He continued on with his head-turning performance carding his second successive four-under-par 67 at Woo Jeong Hills Country Club to stay in front for the third straight day. He is a remarkable 14-under for the Asian Tour event.
Sweden’s Charlie Lindh is next best placed following a 68, while Yang has the comfort of Mexico’s Abraham Ancer sitting a whopping nine shots back in third. Ancer fired a 70 while Korean Jeunghun Wang carded a 68 and is fourth, another stroke behind.

Pochi tornei dell’Asian Tour sono grandi e importanti quanto il KOLON Korea Open.
Quest’anno si terrà la 68ª edizione del campionato nazionale di golf coreano, che tornerà al Woo Jeong Hills Country Club.
Il prestigioso evento si svolge presso il Club dal 2003, con l’eccezione dello scorso anno, quando erano in corso lavori di ristrutturazione.
Anche quest’anno, il vincitore si aggiudicherà un posto all’Open Championship, che si disputerà al Royal Birkdale a luglio, in quanto l’evento fa parte dell’Open Qualifying Series.
Il torneo è di proprietà della Korea Golf Association, con la quale l’Asian Tour intrattiene una relazione fiorente e di lunga data.
Questa settimana si disputa la settima tappa stagionale dell’Asian Tour.
