It was another strong week at the Blot Play9 for Spaniard Pablo Ereno, who got within one of the lead on Sunday before eventually finishing in solo third. The finish marked his fifth top ten of the season, including his win at the Challenge de Catalunya, and solidified his second-place spot in the season-long Road to Mallorca Rankings, moving over 200 points clear of third, and within 100 of Number One MJ Daffue. Another win would likely give the 22-year-old enough points to earn a DP World Tour card, while also moving him closer to the three wins that would gain early promotion, so there is plenty for Ereno to play for this week in Le Vaudreuil.
Local Boy: Julien Quesne
Although Julien Quesne missed the cut at last week’s Open d’Italia, an event he has previously won on the DP World Tour, he enters the Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge off the back of his best finish of the season on the Road to Mallorca, a seventh place finish at the Interwetten Open. Golf PGA France du Vaudreuil is a familiar place for the Frenchman, as Quesne is the touring pro at the golf club, coming often to put on clinics amongst other events. He has played well at the event before, finishing 12th at last year’s edition, which he will be looking to better this year.
Outsider: Joseba Torres
When Joseba Torres eventually finished in a tie for second at Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge last year, having lost in a four-man play-off to David Horsey, it marked his fifth made cut in six events to start the 2025 season, and his fourth finish in the top 25. The rest of the season didn’t go his way, however, as the Spaniard missed the cut in each of the other five events he played last season. But last week, Torres showed signs of finding his form again, finishing in a share of eighth place, his best finish since Le Vaudreuil last year. It will be a nice confidence booster, as he returns to the site of his best HotelPlanner Tour finish to date.
