GOLF.GARA.La Buccellati Pro-Am apre lo show al Golf Club Milano

Tutto pronto al Golf Club Milano di Monza per una settimana di grande golf internazionale. La Buccellati Pro-Am darà il via al Buccellati Ladies Italian Open, torneo del Ladies European Tour, giunto alla 28ª edizione, che si giocherà dal 25 al 27 settembre. In gara le protagoniste del massimo circuito europeo, tra le quali sette della top ten dell’ordine di merito. L’Italia sarà rappresentata da quattordici giocatrici (undici proette e tre dilettanti). Saranno 120 le atlete in campo, che si sfideranno su tre round da 18 buche con in palio un montepremi da 350.000 euro.

Il percorso di Le Golf National, a Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, nei pressi di Parigi, nel 2018 teatro della Ryder Cup legata alle prodezze di Francesco Molinari, ospita il FedEx Open de France (24-27 settembre), uno dei tornei più longevi e classici del DP World Tour, giunto alla 108ª edizione. Sul tee di partenza otto italiani: Matteo Manassero, Edoardo Molinari, Stefano Mazzoli, Gregorio De Leo, Francesco Laporta, Renato Paratore, Filippo Celli e Guido Migliozzi, quest’ultimo past winner nel 2022.

Due tornei aggiunti in extremis al calendario dell’Asian Developmet Tour, il secondo circuito asiatico che, prima dell’evento finale (Aramco Invitational Tournament, 25-28 novembre), propone in Egitto questo mese l’Egypt Golf Series 13 (23-26 settembre) e l’Egypt Golf Series 14 (28 settembre-1 ottobre).

Si è allunato così il cammino di Michele Ortolani verso la ‘carta’ per l’Asian Tour 2027 che sarà assegnata a fine anno ai migliori dieci nell’ordine di merito, tuttavia l’azzurro, secondo nel ranking e con un vantaggio di quasi 18.500 punti sul decimo in graduatoria non corre più rischi.

Khavish Varadan [main picture] is well within his rights to consider 2026 a breakthrough season so far.

Currently riding high on top of the Asian Development Tour (ADT) Order of Merit, thanks to a win and a pair of second placed finishes, he’s also shown glimpses of his potential on the Asian Tour. He tied for 11th at the Taiwan Glass Taifong Open in May – for his best finish on the Tour.

However, ahead of this week’s Mercuries Taiwan Masters, Malaysia’s rising star is not getting ahead of himself.

“I wouldn’t say breakthrough,” says the 26-year-old, “but I’m just building on every week. You know, I’m not doing anything special. It’s just, you know, the same thing every week. Hopefully the breakthrough will come soon.”

Following on from yesterday’s joint announcement by Augusta National Golf Club and The R&A that the winner of this year’s Link Hong Kong Open will receive an invite to the Masters Tournament in 2027, they have confirmed today he will also earn a place in the starting line-up for The Open next year.

This comes after The R&A announced its full list of tournaments that will form part of their Open Qualifying Series, which will see 19 events played in 15 countries. The 155th Open is scheduled for 11-18 July at St Andrews.

As well as the Link Hong Kong Open, the other Asian Tour tournaments that form part of the list are the New Zealand Open and Kolon Korea Open, which like Hong Kong will receive one invite each, and the Deutsche Bank Singapore Open, which gets two places.
