Joel Dahmen ha sfruttato al meglio la sua opportunità di riserva in campo alla Farmers Insurance, piazzandosi tra i primi 10 domenica e guadagnandosi un posto più avanti questo mese al prossimo Full Field Event del TOUR.

Proprio venerdì, Dahmen si lamentava dell’instabilità di un calendario incerto , sottolineando che il suo status condizionale dopo aver concluso al numero 122 nella FedExCup Fall lo aveva portato a chiedersi se avrebbe potuto disputare una dozzina di gare nella stagione 2026. “C’è stato un momento a metà dicembre in cui non facevo molto e non uscivo con la famiglia, e a volte pensavo: ‘Chissà se parteciperò solo a 12 o 15 eventi'”, ha detto a Golf Digest venerdì.

SAN DIEGO (AP) — No one else had a chance to beat Justin Rose at Torrey Pines on Sunday, and so his final challenge was to take on Tiger Woods.

Rose won that battle, too.

In what Rose felt was his most complete tee-to-green performance, he sailed to a 2-under 70 for a seven-shot victory in the Farmers Insurance Open, breaking the 72-hole tournament record last set by Woods in 1999.

“Sorry, T-dub, if you’re watching,” Rose said in his CBS interview on the 18th green.

Vijay Singh, 62 anni, ha superato il taglio al Waialae Country Club venerdì, il suo secondo passaggio dal 2021. Singh ha sorpreso molti quando ha deciso di usufruire di un’esenzione dal montepremi per la carriera nel 2026, che lo renderebbe idoneo per gli eventi Full-Field del PGA TOUR in questa stagione. Singh non gioca a tempo pieno nel TOUR dal 2017.

Carolina Melgrati ha conquistato la ‘carta’ per il LPGA Tour 2026. Con un’ottima prestazione, sempre nelle parti alte della classifica, è terminata 17ª con 280 (68 70 71 71, -6) colpi nel LPGA Q-Series Final Qualifying Stage disputato al Magnolia Grove Golf Club, sui due percorsi del Crossings Course (par 72) e del Falls Course (par 71), a Mobile in Alabama, dove il torneo, a causa del maltempo, è stato ridotto da 90 a 72 buche. Con Benedetta Moresco, saranno così due le azzurre il prossimo anno sul massimo circuito femminile mondiale.

Attention is firmly on a top-10 finish in the Ladies European Tour (LET) Order of Merit for Amelia Garvey following the New Zealander’s best ever result on the circuit.

Garvey produced a stunning Sunday at the Wistron Ladies Open in Chinese Taipei firing a 65 (-7) to soar up the leaderboard and finish runner-up to Yani Tseng.

Having finished solo third on three occasions prior to that, Garvey, still a rookie on Tour, shot up to 12th in the season-long standings. The top-10 at the end of the year will qualify for the Final Stage of LPGA Q-Series in December, making this the 25-year-old’s primary target.
