Il Team Europe, affidato alla svedese Anna Nordqvist, ha vinto la 20ª edizione della Solheim Cup superando per 15-13 la compagine degli Stati Uniti, guidata da Angela Stanford. Sul percorso del Bernardus Golf, a Cromvoirt in Olanda, l’incontro è stato quanto mai equilibrato nei doppi terminati sul punteggio di 8-8 dopo la parità nella prima giornata con un 2-2, sia nei foursome che nei fourball, e nella seconda con la variante del 3-1 in favore delle continentali nei foursome, restituito prontamente dalle americane nei fourball.

GOLF.GARA.Figueiredo embracing challenge of home open

The man from Portugal, currently 13th in the season-long Rankings, is a Lisbon resident, so will be commuting from home as he looks to win the country’s national open for the first time.

Figueiredo says he is looking forward to the rare pleasure of sleeping in his own bed whilst competing this week.

“It’s always special to play at home,” he said. “This week I can sleep in my own bed which is very different from a normal week. Hopefully I’ll have a lot of family and friends coming so definitely a special week for me because of that and also because it’s one of the last events of the year. I’m in a good position in the Rankings so it’s also important for that.”

GOLF.GARA. Ciganda Clinches the Cup Once More for Europe at the 2026 Solheim Cup

CROMVOIRT, Netherlands – For the second time in three Solheim Cup meetings it was Carlota Ciganda of Team Europe who secured the cinching point to put the Solheim Cup in the hands of the Europeans.

Ciganda faced America’s Jennifer Kupcho in the 11th match out in the Sunday Singles matches and never trailed over the course of the day. Ciganda closed out Kupcho 4&2 just a day after Kupcho drained 122 feet worth of putts to defeat Ciganda in the Four-Ball session and tie the Europeans heading into the final session.
