Quest’anno fanno otto, otto Open d’Italia. E così Torino, prima Capitale d’Italia, entra a far parte (dopo Circolo Golf Villa d’Este e Golf Club Milano) anche del club che può vantare il titolo di Capitale Italiana del golf moderno. Senza dimenticare, però, che è l’intero Piemonte (dopo la Lombardia) a fregiarsi di questa denominazione: la Regione Piemonte, infatti, ospiterà un Open di Golf per la quattordicesima volta. Oltre alle otto edizioni torinesi (quattro al Golf Torino: 1999, 2013 e 2014, 2026; altrettante al Royal Park I Roveri nel 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012) vanno aggiunte anche quelle disputale all’Alpino di Stresa (1925, 1926, 1927), Sestriere (1936) e Castelconturbia (1991, 1998).

The second stop of the 2026 Epson Tour season is officially underway at the IOA Golf Classic. The field of 120 athletes dealt with cooler temperatures, gusty winds, and small greens at Alaqua Country Club on Friday morning.

Gianna Clemente is a 17-year-old rookie who everyone has been keeping an eye on over the past few years as she has come up the ranks, and today was like no other. Clemente fired a 6-under bogey-free round of 65 to start off her second event of the season. The Florida native rolled in four birdies on her back nine to sign for a 4-under 32, ending the day sitting in a tie for the lead.

Richard T. Lee, stella dell’Asian Tour, è diventato oggi una star della LIV Golf League, sfiorando per un soffio una delle vittorie più clamorose nella storia del torneo.

Il canadese è stato sconfitto dall’americano Bryson DeChambeau alla prima buca di uno spareggio a eliminazione diretta al LIV Golf Singapore, in un finale avvincente e inaspettato sul percorso Serapong del Sentosa Golf Club, che rimarrà a lungo impresso nella memoria degli appassionati di golf asiatici.

Lee sembrava il favorito per una vittoria memorabile, ma DeChambeau e la folla numerosa presente rimasero sbalorditi quando sbagliò un putt da sessanta centimetri per il par, consegnando così la vittoria al suo avversario americano.
