All 20 of last year’s graduates have teed it up on the DP World Tour this year, with several on track to retain playing privileges on Golf’s Global Tour for the 2027 campaign after a quarter of the season.

Van Tonder, who kicked off the 2025 Road to Mallorca with back-to-back wins in the first two events of the season, currently sits 38th on the Race to Dubai, having made a big move following the Investec South African Open Championship. After opening with a two over par 72 at Stellenbosch Golf Club, Van Tonder faced an uphill task to make the cut at his national open. However, after battling back with a two under par 68 on Friday, the 34-year-old would produce a bogey-free 64 on moving day to move firmly into contention in the Western Cape. Van Tonder would eventually end the week in a tie for sixth after signing off with a 68, his best finish since he returned to the DP World Tour. The South African’s performance in Stellenbosch continued what has been a strong start to life back on Golf’s Global Tour, with a top ten at the Nedbank Golf Challenge in honour of Gary Player and two top 15s at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open and Alfred Dunhill Championship on home soil.

Con il suo punteggio record di 14 colpi sotto il par, Maria Jose Marin è diventata la settima campionessa dell’Augusta National Women’s Amateur e ha guadagnato due punti nel LPGA Elite Amateur Pathway (LEAP). Ora ha un totale di 11 punti, più della metà della soglia di 20 punti necessaria per essere ammessa al LPGA Tour, secondo i criteri del LEAP.

Dopo tre round di gara all’Augusta National Women’s Amateur 2026, Marin ha avuto la meglio sulla numero 3 del World Amateur Golf Ranking, Andrea Revuelta, vincendo con quattro colpi di vantaggio. Ha realizzato tre round sotto i 70 colpi, con punteggi di 65-69-68 per un totale di 202 su 54 buche. I primi due round dell’Augusta National Women’s Amateur si giocano al Champions Retreat Golf Club di Evans, in Georgia, mentre il round finale si svolge all’Augusta National Golf Club il sabato prima del Masters. Questa è stata la quarta partecipazione consecutiva al torneo per la studentessa del terzo anno dell’Università dell’Arkansas.

NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nevada (AP) — Lauren Coughlin ha minacciato di dominare l’Aramco Championship per due giorni, ma con il percorso collinare di Shadow Creek che ha confermato la sua reputazione di campo in cui anche il par è un buon punteggio, ha dovuto faticare non poco per mantenere il suo vantaggio di due colpi in vista del round finale di domenica.

Sabato Coughlin ha realizzato un punteggio di 73, 1 sopra il par, e il suo totale di 7 sotto il par per il torneo è stato uno dei soli cinque punteggi sotto il par.

Travis Smyth’s dream run continued today when he made an eagle putt on the par-five 18th to sensationally win the International Series Japan by one.

In a riveting finish, he drained a 20 footer to narrowly avoid a play-off with Thailand’s Pavit Tangkamolprasert and Ryosuke Kinoshita from Japan – at Caledonian Golf Club, near Tokyo.

The Australian’s brilliant final putt saw him shoot a seven-under-par 64 to move to 15-under, with Pavit and Kinoshita both in the clubhouse on 14-under.

L’inglese Luke Donald, capitano del Team Europe, ha nominato Edoardo Molinari vice capitano per la sfida con il Team USA che si svolgerà dal 17 al 19 settembre del 2027 sul percorso dell’Adare Manor Golf Club, a Limerick in Irlanda. E’ la terza volta consecutiva che l’inglese vuole il 45enne torinese al suo fianco – dopo i due successi precedenti a Roma nel 2023 e a Farmingdale negli USA nel 2025 – il quale, oltre ad aver messo a disposizione la sua grande esperienza, ha dato un importante supporto statistico attraverso il suo modello di analisi.

Ha dichiarato l’azzurro: “Sono felice che Donald mi abbia chiamato di nuovo. Essere coinvolti nella Ryder Cup, in qualsiasi ruolo, è una cosa fantastica. Luke è un capitano incredibile, è molto apprezzato dai giocatori ed è lui a dare l’esempio. Si impegna tantissimo, riflette a fondo su ogni dettaglio, fa sentire tutti a proprio agio, è sempre disposto a sperimentare nuove strade, nuove idee e soprattutto è estremamente motivato a vincere”.
