The Sunshine Tour’s vision of providing meaningful pathways to the global stage for its members continues pay dividends as local stars continue to make their mark on the biggest stages of world golf.

In a season where South African players have shown tremendous dominance on the DP World Tour – boasting seven wins this campaign – we take a closer look at the players in question and how the Sunshine Tour shaped their respective careers up to this point.

Schaper’s golfing journey is a classic story of an elite junior prodigy who successfully transformed that massive potential into professional silverware. Investec South African Open champion Casey Jarvis achieved a career-best finish in the Majors with his tied sixth place in The Open Championship at Royal Birkdale.

Jarvis, who qualified by virtue of his victory in the Investec South African Open at Stellenbosch Golf Club earlier this year, produced a strong final round of 66 to finish as the leading South African on six under par – four strokes behind champion Ryan Fox.

“It was a lot of fun out there. I mentioned having fun yesterday in an interview, and yeah, that’s what I did today. It was amazing with the crowds and had the whole family out. Yeah, it was truly special. Played some unreal golf,” Jarvis said of his debut in The Open.

Al Northamptonshire County Golf Club, nella città inglese da cui il circolo prende il nome, si disputa dal 21 al 24 luglio l’English Boys U18 Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship, evento di consolidata tradizione più noto come “Carris Trophy” al quale prende parte la squadra azzurra Under 18. Scenderanno in campo: Simone Cavaliere (Montecchia), Giampaolo Gagliardi (Olgiata), Christian Fantinelli (Olgiata), Davide Maltese (Roma Acquasanta), Matteo Manini (Le Fonti), Paolo Perrino (Royal Park I Roveri), Robert Ress (Madonna di Campiglio) e Carlo Roman (Montecchia). Il team è accompagnato dagli allenatori federali Lorenzo Gagli e Marco Soffietti.

There are seven current HotelPlanner Tour members joining the 43 alumni at Royal Birkdale this week; MJ Daffue, who has won twice on the 2026 Road to Mallorca, Matthew Southgate, who won the Swiss Challenge in May, Tom Sloman and Jack McDonald. Baard Skogen is set to make his Major debut this week, with Tiger Christensen making his second Open appearance. Matthew Baldwin is also in the field, and the Royal Birkdale member will signify the start of the tournament on Thursday morning as he takes the opening tee shot.

HotelPlanner Tour alumni Sam Bairstow, Matthew Jordan, Peter Uihlein and Antoine Rozner all secured their place at Royal Birkdale after coming through Final Qualifying in June.

Former Open Champion Henrik Stenson, who won three times on the HotelPlanner Tour in 2000, tees it up this week, ten years after his memorable win at Royal Troon where he closed with a 63, the joint lowest round in Major history at the time.

A fourth Open appearance for Marco Penge awaits as he looks to hunt down his first major win.

Stefano Mazzoli, con una grande prestazione, ha vinto con 268 (67 69 66 66, -20) colpi il Corales Puntacana Championship, organizzato in collaborazione da PGA Tour e DP World Tour sul percorso del Puntacana Resort Club (par 72), a Puntacana nella Repubblica Dominicana. Primo titolo per il quale, oltre all’assegno di 720.000 dollari su un montepremi di 4.000.000 di dollari, avrà l’esenzione su entrambi i circuiti e potrà partecipare a un major, il PGA Championship del 2027.
