Jessica Welch ha realizzato il colpo di golf definitivo durante il secondo round di venerdì al Copper Rock Championship.

La nativa di Thomasville, in Georgia, ha realizzato il suo primo hole-in-one della stagione 2026 dell’Epson Tour, colpendo perfettamente un ferro 9 alla buca 15, un par 3 di 123 yard, del Copper Rock Golf Course.

Tuttavia, lo spettacolare momento della buca 15 è stato in netto contrasto con una giornata difficile sul campo. Oltre alla hole-in-one, ha realizzato quattro bogey, un triplo bogey e un birdie, chiudendo il secondo giro con un 76 e mancando di fatto il taglio per il weekend.

Il round finale del Copper Rock Championship si è svolto sabato pomeriggio al Copper Rock Golf Course, caratterizzato da un’altra giornata ventosa sui campi da golf.

Fiona Xu ha iniziato alla grande con un birdie alla buca 3, un par 4. Nel frattempo, la sua compagna di gioco Maddie Szeryk-DiBello stava dando spettacolo, chiudendo il giro a 3 colpi sotto il par dopo le prime cinque buche. Xu ha continuato a migliorare, realizzando birdie alle buche 5 e 9 e arrivando alle ultime nove buche a 3 colpi sotto il par.

“È una sensazione davvero incredibile, quasi surreale, e non me ne sono ancora reso conto, ma poterlo rifare qui è davvero speciale”, ha detto Xu.

Der bisher größte Tag seiner Karriere steht bevor: Matti Schmid aus dem Elite Team Germany wird bei der PGA Championship im Aronimink Golf Club am Sonntag in der Finalgruppe starten. Der Oberpfälzer glänzte am Moving Day des zweiten Majors des Jahres in Pennsylvania mit einer 65 (-5) und geht als einer von fünf Spielern auf dem geteilten zweiten Rang in die Schlussrunde – zwei Schläge hinter dem US-Amerikaner Alex Smalley.

Watson and Ancer add LIV Golf star power to Kolon Korea Open
American Bubba Watson and Abraham Ancer from Mexico will headline next week’s Kolon Korea Open – bringing a touch of LIV Golf star power to one of the region’s most prestigious National Opens.

The tournament is returning to Woo Jeong Hills Country Club after a two-year gap due to renovations and will be played from 21-24 May.

In addition to their participation, the tournament has also been given a boost in terms of prize money. It has been raised to KRW2,000,000,000 (approximately US$1,335,000), an increase of US$400,000 from last year.

The two star players are taking time out from their busy LIV Golf schedules, although their trip is timely as LIV Golf Korea will be played the following week.

Watson is the captain of RangeGoats GC, while Ancer plays for Torque GC. The former is a two-time winner of the Masters, in 2012 and 2014, and has triumphed 12 times on the PGA Tour.
