The field for the 2026 Epson Tour Championship at Indian Wells has been finalized and promises an exciting season finale for the third time in Indian Wells, California. The 71-player field will once again take on Indian Wells Golf Resort, but this time, back on the Players Course. Competition will take place from October 1-4, with the champion taking home 650 Race for the Card points and a record $100,000.
Following the tournament’s conclusion on Sunday, the top 15 athletes in the season-long Race for the Card will graduate to the LPGA Tour, earning membership for the 2027 season.
Prior to the Epson Tour Championship at Indian Wells, nine athletes secured their spot in the top 15 and LPGA Tour membership for the 2027 season, an impressive feat that showcases hard work and consistency paying off. And despite nine spots in the coveted top 15 already being secured, 59 athletes in the field are still mathematically eligible to play their way in with a top performance in California, putting pressure on those both just inside and outside the top 15. With 59 battling for six opportunities, the Tour is set up to have a dramatic finish to the 2026 season.
All nine of the Epson Tour athletes who have already clinched their LPGA Tour cards for the 2027 season are entered to compete in the Epson Tour Championship, as well as everyone in the current top 15. Additionally, 15 of the 17winners will be in search of another victory to close out the 2026 season.
Mirabel Ting (No. 1) has been a major competitor throughout the 2026 Epson Tour season, winning two events and collecting 11 top-10 finishes. Ting’s first victory of the season came at the Smoky Mountain Championship presented by Food City, and, more recently, at the Dream First Bank Charity Classic in Garden City, Kansas.
Ting has accomplished so much this season, but the grind is not over yet, as fellow rookies Lauren Olivares (No. 2), Kaleiya Romero (No.3), and Carla Bernat Escuder (No. 5) have also clinched their cards and all three athletes are still fighting for not only Player of the Year, but also Rookie of the Year honors.
The Epson Tour Championship has a rich history of past champions, with many moving on to the LPGA Tour as a result of their victory, including 2024 champion Heather Lin. The Chinese Taipei native is a clear example of the remaining spots being anyone’s to grab, as her win catapulted her from No. 57 to 15, earning the last LPGA Tour card of the 2024 season.
Last year’s champion, Anne Chen will be teeing it up. Chen heads into the week sitting at No. 18 in the Race for the Card standings after deciding to compete on Epson the reminder of season, needing a stellar performance in California to regain LPGA status for the 2027 season.
