Every year, it comes down to the wire at Pinehaven Country Club. With two par-fives in the closing four holes, the drama and action tend to come down to the last hour of play. The 2025 Casella Golf Championship followed the script, with three players in the last two groups all having a chance to etch their name on the trophy. At the end of the day, it was the Epson Tour sophomore, Briana Chacon, who came away with the win, her second of the season and third of her career.

Chacon played steady golf all week, only recording six bogeys, with four of them coming during her second round. The final round for Chacon was no different, as she only put one bogey on the card while the birdies kept coming in. The 23-year-old was bogey-free until the 14th hole, but as all champions do, she did not let it affect her. She went on to birdie two of her next four holes down the stretch on her way to claiming her third career Epson Tour victory.

“This one is huge. I think for me, I just had such a big goal of just trying to finish this season strong,” explained Chacon after her win. “This just really helped instill that confidence and gave me good momentum, I think, going into the final stretch of the season. So it’s just an honor. And I’m just super, super excited to be here.

The win puts Chacon on the fast track to earning her LPGA Tour card for the first time, with the 500 points pushing her to No. 2 in the Race for the Card behind only Gina Kim. The California native joins a decorated list of champions in Lauren Morris, Jenny Bae, Lucy Li, and Lilia Vu, all of whom currently compete on the LPGA Tour. Chacon also joins Gina Kim and Riley Smyth as the only players with multiple wins for the season, adding to the list of impressive accomplishments she achieved in Guilderland, New York.

“It’s just a huge honor just to follow in those footsteps,” said Chacon. “Hopefully, one day I can be playing alongside them. Just this win makes me have more confidence and makes me believe that I can just be right there next to them.”

The Epson Tour now heads to Toledo, Ohio, for the inaugural playing of the Greater Toledo Classic hosted by Stacy Lewis from July 25-27. With only seven events remaining, the Race for the Card points mean more now than ever.
